Health Fair Planned for The PEAK Center, Godshall Says
10/20/2009
Rep. Robert Godshall (R-Montgomery) is encouraging people age 50 and older to attend a health fair and free health screening on Oct. 23, at The PEAK Center, 315 W. Main Street in Lansdale.

“The PEAK Center promotes wellness and quality of life for adults age 50 and older,” said Godshall. “The annual health fair gives older adults the opportunity to receive free screenings for stroke, blood pressure, heart disease and hearing, just to name a few of the tests that will be offered.”

The health fair will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early for a presentation by Dr. James Bumgardner of Grand View Hospital titled Joint Pain and You. His presentation will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Godshall, who will attend the event, is an active supporter of The PEAK Center and its community-focused programs. Earlier this year he helped secure $1.5 million in stimulus funding for construction of the new PEAK Community Center at the corner of Hancock and Line streets in Lansdale.

The PEAK center serves about 3,000 senior citizens in the boroughs of Lansdale, Hatfield and North Wales and the townships of Towamencin, Worcester, Upper Gwynedd, Hatfield and Montgomery. Residents of surrounding communities are also welcome.
