HARRISBURG – Last fall, Rep. Robert Godshall (R-Montgomery) saw his Right-to-Try bill become law, making Pennsylvania the 38th state in the country to permit eligible patients with terminal illnesses to use investigational drugs, biological products and devices not yet approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Now he is supporting efforts in Congress to extend this right to terminally ill patients nationwide.

By a unanimous vote, House Bill 45 passed the House on concurrence today after undergoing minor Senate amendments.

Robert Godshall (R-Montgomery), chairman of the House Consumer Affairs Committee, will hold a public hearing on legislation he is sponsoring that would enable natural gas distribution companies to recover costs related to distribution system expansion. House Bill 107 would permit the distribution companies to assess a surcharge for this purpose with Public Utility Commission (PUC) approval.
